In this blog post, we’ll dive into the different ways you can support your blogger friend.

If you have a friend who runs a blog, you likely understand the dedication and passion they pour into their craft.

Whether they’re just starting out or have been blogging for years, showing support and appreciation for their work can make such a difference.

When I first started my blogging journey, I felt like I didn’t have many supportive people in my corner.

It was one of the reasons why I stopped blogging for a few years because I felt VERY discouraged.

So I want to share the many ways that you can support your new and established blogger friends on their journey.

Most of which are completely free!

You can also support your blogger friend financially if they offer products or services.

I also want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to the people who show their support for me! I appreciate you all so much!

Read their Blog posts

This is the most obvious one and probably the most important.

If your friend has a blog, reading their blog posts is the most meaningful thing you can do.

Take some time and read through their blog.

Don’t know where to start? Start at their about me page.

You’ll learn a little more about them that you maybe didn’t already know!

You will also learn about what their goal is with their blog and what they are passionate writing about.

From there you can head straight to their recent blog posts.

Blogs are meant to be read, so reading your friend’s blog is crucial if you want to support your blogger friend.

After that, check out the rest of their website and see what more they have to offer!

Share their content

Liked a post you read on your friend’s blog? Consider sharing it to your social media platforms.

By actively sharing their content, you can help increase traffic to their website and attract new readers.

If you are personally recommending your friend’s blog, they may be more likely to read it.

Spread the word about your friend’s blog to your friends, family, and colleagues who share similar interests.

Engage with their content

Engaging with their content is another great way you can support your blogger friend.

Engaging with their content allows you to build a personal relationship with them.

This includes leaving comments on their blog posts and social media posts, and/or subscribing to their newsletter.

*BONUS FOR BLOGGERS: Make sure you reply when people leave comments! It’s a great way for you to engage with your audience!*

A blogger’s goal is to provide value to their readers. They absolutely want you to engage with their content.

If you just so happen to be their target audience in addition to being a personal friend, then that’s a bonus!

If that’s you, take the time to see how your blogger friend can provide value to you.

Consider subscribing to get their latests blog posts, freebies, and more sent straight to your email. This way you don’t miss out on anything!

Some bloggers have an option that allows you to reply to the emails they send you.

If you want to know more, or ask them something, this is the opportunity to do so.

Many bloggers offer premium subscription services to help support their work financially.

If you can, consider making a one-time donation or subscribing to their blog’s premium content.

Your financial support can help offset the costs of running their blog and allow them to continue creating valuable content for their audience.

Purchase or Promote Their Products or Services

If your friend sells any products or services, consider supporting their business by making a purchase.

If what they offer doesn’t match your interest, still consider sharing their products and services for others who may be interested.

Again, a simple social media share is a great way to show your support even if you cannot support them financially.

Whether they sell merchandise, offer coaching, or online courses, promoting their products can help drive sales.

Provide Constructive Feedback

As a friend, you have a unique perspective on your friend’s work.

You can offer constructive feedback on their blog posts by letting them know what you liked and what you didn’t.

Going back to if you are part of their target audience, let them know what topics you would like to read about.

If your friend is a mom blogger, let her know if you want to read more about her personal tips on parenting.

If your friend has a food blog, let her know what recipes you are interested in.

Bloggers are constantly looking for feedback from their readers to make their content more relatable and enjoyable.

Do not be afraid to recommend something to your blogger friend, especially if you align with their content.

Offer Technical or Design Assistance

If you have any tech skills, offer to help your friend improve their blog’s functionality and aesthetics.

This could include things like web design and graphics.

Many bloggers are not tech savvy and often times want the help of a web designer.

While some of us bloggers will try to learn how to do things ourselves, it is very much time consuming.

Often times, many new bloggers also do not have the money to pay a professional graphic designer.

If you have any expertise in this area, consider helping your friend out for free, or for a discounted price.

Your blogger friend will absolutely appreciate your efforts, and will most likely return the favor in some way down the road.

Provide Emotional Support

Because blogging can be a challenging and sometimes lonely journey, your friend may face writer’s block, self-doubt, or criticism from others.

Be there for them by offering emotional support, encouragement, and/or reassurance.

Be a friend when they need it most.

Remind them of their talents and accomplishments, and help them stay motivated during difficult times.

Having a strong support system can very much help people flourish.

celebrating their achievements

Celebrate your friend’s blogging milestones and achievements publicly.

Whether they reach a certain number of followers or subscribers, or publish a viral blog post, share the news on your social media channels.

Your support and recognition can go a long way in boosting their confidence and motivation.

This will also help increase their reach as well so do not be afraid to share to social media!

In conclusion

Supporting your blogger friend doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming.

So, the next time you come across your friend’s blog post, take a moment to leave a comment, share it with your followers, and let them know how much you value their work!
